Does Amazon ever ship blu ray discs before release dates?

Not really maybe once or twice I got a movie a day before release day but I mostly get mine by UPS on Tuesday afternoons.

Last Sunday I got an email saying Transformers had shipped, and the release date was on Tuesday. If you pre-order movies that can happen to you.

They don't actually ship on Sunday. They are packaged and waiting to go out on Monday. Next time you get this e-mail go to the actual UPS website, it will say payment info recieved

Amazon ships the tuesday releases on Monday. Never had anything shipped early from them.

They normally ship the day before release for Prime members. Sometimes they make the free shipping people wait a few days longer.

Yeah and thats dumb IMO but hey you get what you pay for (Prime Member here).

What I think is dumb and shady is when I have a preorder for months, then one person pre orders a copy the day before the release date and theirs ships while my preorder doesn't get filled because they ran out of stock on the item... Which has happened multiple times. I also preordered and waited until Wednesday for them to ship my order when the product was in stock on time. I actually had to cancel my order and re-order it to get them to ship it.

Good point. The main advantage of pre-ordering early is been able to get the cheapest price listed for the item in Amazon between the time of you pre-order and the time it is released. I have had to wait for an out of stock item that I had in pre-order for weeks, while other people that pre-ordered a couple of days before the release got their copies promptly.

Amazon doesnt even ship RELEASED titles early if you dont have Prime.

That makes no sense. If the titles already released Amazon would not be shipping it early. I have had no problems with Amazon even when I was picking free shipping. It would either ship later that day if I ordered it earlier in the day or next business day if it was in stock. The Prime members for sure and even the free shipping customers a lot of times get the new releases sent out the Monday before release date. The Prime members get priority over the free shippers of course.

I used to be an amazon UK customer before I descovered other internet companies. I am no longer becasue of amazons shipping. I use to order and select the free shipping unless I realy wanted it.

Amazons free shipping is the worst I seen. Most times I had seen it go out of stock and wait a few weeks for it to arrive even though I had it pre ordered for months. They only shipped the night before you payed for shipping and it usually arrived on my door step on day of release unless royal mail screwed up and then it would of been the day after.

I then discovered play.com along with asda-enterainment (here in the UK) and a few other stores and it made all amazon's shipping options look like crap. Other companies I discovered ship for free and ship early and don't seem biased. Most I seen they ship on order if in stock or first come first serve bases for pre orders. Amazon give top priority to the person who pays for shipping no matter how long you paied or been waiting and due to that amazon lost me as a regular customer. I only buy from amazon if the price and shipping is less then all those with free shipping.

I have prime and I get my movies regular on Thursday. I wish I could get them early or even om Tuesday.

If you want movies early don't even bother looking at amazon look else where. I know people are getting them early in the states but don't know the compaines.

Today US copy of iron man arrived and from what I read its not out till the 30th.

I also got deception from the US and its not out to the 23th may of been sent sooner if I had know it was going to be region free earlier and placed an order earlier.

The day I ordered deception on the 15th at night and it was shipped on the 16th. I usually get most my movies early and all free shipping.

Amazon is like the goody too shoes. They are always going by the rules and almost never put anything out early.

If amazon only shipped early. I have blow and the Godfather ordered and I'm tired of hearing about everyone who've gotten theirs early.....go ahead.....I will allow this time for anyone who has gotten it early to rub it in.....

As the largest seller of DVDs and Blu-rays on the Internet, Amazon has to play by the rules for release dates. Smaller retailers can get away with it because they don't sell nearly as much and have much less people paying attention.

I wish Amazon would actually ship on time. I ordered blow on prime 2 day and godfather on prime 1 day seperate orders. Neither has shipped they are still in process. I got some idiot who didn't understand what day it was. I think Blow was shipping today and godfather was shipping tomorrow. My 1 day shipping got refunded and he was nice but not too helpful. He told me some distribution centers have not received movies yet.
WTF I am pretty sure they have been sitting on Godfather for a couple of weeks or more. Whatever. I am getting more and more upset with them.
When Kill Bill came out it was not even locked in shipping soon on monday at 3 pm. I cancelled and got from best buy for the same price.

Well, I ordered the Godfather set last week for $61.95, selected free shipping (cause I figured I could wait a few extra days for it), and was surprised to receive an e-mail from them today saying that it had shipped. (The original shipping estimate they gave me was September 29.) I should get it by Wednesday or Thursday! (And BTW, I'm not a Prime member.)

Mine have always shipped on Monday unless there was a holiday(received on Wednesday). This week's releases are the first that have actually been shipped on Friday. The only problem is that everything has to go through 3 UPS centers to get here and UPS lets all packages except next day sit from Friday evening to Sunday evening so I still won't receive them until Tuesday. I'm a prime member and my in stock orders have always shipped the day I ordered them or the next morning at the latest.
