Anybody having issues with speed racer on blu ray with the Samsung BP1400?

My parents have a Samsung BP1400 and lately been having issue with the blu ray copy of speed racer. During the movie the disc will just stop playing and the time meter will read 0000. You see no picture and hear no sound. It's like somebody entered the room and turned off the movie. We restarted the disc and the same thing happened again but at another location. My sister took the disc back and exchanged it. We tried it again and got to the last race until the same thing happened. We lost sound and picture. I took the disc home with me and tried it on my PS3 and it worked fine!

I checked the firmware and the latest version is on there (1.8). The BP1400 has no problem with DVD's and other Blu ray movies. I was just thinking that maybe I'll have to wait for the next firmware to see if anything changes.

I know that Samsung in the past had issues with new release blu ray movies.

I called the support line and the person on the phone said they have not received any calls on this issue.

Anybody else out there had this issue with their BP1400?

My 1400 is a P.O.S. , but the newest FW is 1.9. Samsung support is a joke!!!

I believe that line is the first the Samdung customer support people are taught at the Kim Jung Il Samsung Support School. Every time I call I get that same reply. And I know they are lying about it because from reading here others have called and informed them of the same issue(s).

Anyhow, try the latest firmware (doubt it will help, but it might). FWIW, I can't even get Speed Racer to load in my player.

I'll try downloading the latest firmware and see if that help.

When did 1.9 come out?

I have no issues with Speed Racer at all.
Didn't like it.
Didn't buy it.

There is no issue, the player knows a crap movie when it reads the information and is just trying to save you some time. Instead of being angry, thank it for looking out for you. If you continue to be angry at the player, the next thing you know is your watching Beaches and it ruins your life.
