When We Left Earth: Reviews & Responses - Blu-ray Forum

We kicked the satellite to the curb last year; I haven't had the opportunity to see any of the programs in broadcast and I have yet to see any reviews (maybe I haven't looked hard enough?). Thoughts, anyone?

I'm not a total NASA geek, but I did time as a military dependent in Huntsville, Alabama (to my knowledge, the only city in America with a civic center named for a German rocket scientist who once worked for the Nazis), and some of my favorite childhood memories are of the Space & Rocket Center there...I'd probably just blind-buy the collection, but I've already got all my 4th-quarter must-must-own titles on pre-order and I have to have something left for holiday gift-giving hint-dropping.

(Oh---and if WB is paying attention: I know it's too late for a 25th Anniversary release on BD, but anytime you want to get The Right Stuff out I promise I'll pick one up).

I loved it. I watched in on TV then ran out to buy it Tuesday. I have watched the first episode again and it is great. Some of the footage is old and looks a little rough. The in orbit stuff looks freaking incredible. For $35 it is an absolute STEAL. The interviews are great too. The later footage of Shuttle is stunning in HD, but they had HD cameras on it after Columbia. If you have any interest in the history of the space program, this covers it all fairly well. I wish they had touched on the new program more, but hey, it was a great look back.

It really is amazing to look back at how we, as a country, viewed the space program and treated these guys like heroes, which they definitely earned!

Of course, I may be slightly biased based on what I do for work.

I have so far watched the first episode and half of the second. It is a stunning set and well worth the G's.

This set is well worth the $35 for anyone with any interest at all in the space program... I was expecting to pay around $50 when this set was announced, so for $35 it's a great set to own...
