This one is bizarre. When I watch Planet Earth, the menu sound/music is nice and loud. Once the program actually starts, the volume plunges and I have to turn it all the way up to even barely hear it.
I'm new to Blu-ray, having just gotten set up two days ago. Is this normal for this particular disc, or did I accidentally hit an option somewhere? |

Do you have anything else?? It helps to A/B.
If your TV is hooked up, see if there are dips in audio with that too. Also, please let us know your basic setup and how everything is connected. Be a little specific and help us help you. Okay then...good luck for now, |

Okay, cool! The TV that I have is the Mitsubishi LT52149 (52" LCD, 1080p, 120Hz integrated sound)
The Blu-ray player that I have is the Sony BDP-S350. It always works fine when watching regular TV. My Xbox 360 works fine and does not experience any sound dips. I do not have any other Blu-rays to test. So I'm thinking/hoping that it is just a funky disc. It's really strange because the menu music is really loud and great...then when the show starts, it dips really low. |

My sister recently got a BLU-ray player for thier system and had a simular problem.
I came over and found that my nephew had incorrectly hooked up the audio cables. Not knowing your setup all I can say is re-check your cable hook-ups to make sure its correct. I almost didn't myself, as it was a hassle to get access behind her steup, but her family was rewarded when I found the problem. |

There is just an HDMI cable. I had a professional come out and install everything and it seems to work fine.
I still don't understand how part of the Blu-ray disc can have normal sound while another part just doesn't. I don't know that much about it, but it really sounds like a disc problem. |

If another Blu-ray works fine than you are correct.
If it doesn't then something is incorrect in your setup. With my sister's family they have an older HDTV that required a DVI-to-HDMI converter for video AND using the White/Red cables for audio. My nephew had connect these cables incorrectly, which is easy to do if you don't pay attention. Good luck. |
