I didn't read the book but I was pleasantly surprised by the movie. I actually enjoyed it. It had a cool "closed in" atmosphere and I thought the acting was great. Not the best movie but I thought it was worth the price of admission...considering some of the sh*t I've payed for this year. Too bad it tanked at the box office.

This movie may have done better had it been released at another time. I've read some good reviews on it. Problem is there's a huge glut of movies opening each week. Good movies are really getting overlooked. The economy probably doesn't help much either. Seems people are a little more wary about spending.

I'm going to try and see it while it's at the theater.

Yeah I'm sure the economy isn't helping matters. It was well worth it if you view it as a kids movie. I loved the atmosphere, all the old/broken light bulbs illuminating the city. The pipes are all rusted/broken. I thought it was just something different. I wish I could give the money I spent on Journey To The Center Of The Earth to the producers of this movie.
