Initially, Naughty Dog hadn't specified any future games in the series, with only hints and comments providing clues to their decision. Co-President Evan Wells stated that the new technology in their Uncharted: Drake's Fortune engine may be used for a new Jak and Daxter trilogy, as well as saying that "there is a lot of interest around the office in going back to that franchise (Jak and Daxter) and seeing what we could do with it using the Uncharted engine." Later, more concrete details were leaked when a name for an, apparently, future Jak and Daxter game was registered in the U.S. Patent Office called Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, and much later several prototype game cinematics were also leaked onto the Internet featuring old and new game characters in unfamiliar situations (Jak has short-cut hair and, along with Daxter, is interacting with new allies and battling new foes), and Naughty Dog refused to comment on both.[1] Naughty Dog did not show up at the E3 2008 convention, leaving many uncertain of what they were doing. But in a recent IGN interview with Naughty Dog's Richard Lemarchand, he explains that "You won't have to wait too long for [the big revelation]." and that "We are working hard on something, and we haven't just been resting on our laurels."
