NBC has removed itself from Time Warner Cable! http://www.timewarnercable.com/Dayto...ult_post2.html
NBC hasn't had a good history with Time Waner- they refuse to give me NBC in HD. I live in Ohio and have digital cable and just got screwed out of seeing one of the very few Steelers football games I get to see. I guess I'll have to try the online broadcast. For me NBC was channel 2, but now channel 2 is HBO Family and NBC is gone. Anybody else getting screwed over on here? Last edited by jmlalit5; 10-06-2008 at 12:29 AM. |

In Buffalo, the local CBS affiliate wants Time Warner to charge their subscribers for CBS over cable, even though they send their CBS digital hi-def signal over the air for free.
It's a way to get money out of time warner - it's crap. Time warner is retaliating by supplying rabbit ears with a switcherbox so cable subscribers can switch over to the rabbit ears for CBS feed. By the way: I'm SPECIAL now Whooo-hoo!!!! Over 1,000 posts! O.K., maybe I'm more excited about this than you guys are... |

Not sure if this is related, but I just realized NBC-HD disappeared from my Insight lineup that I used to get on my one set connected directly through coax (no box). NBC used to be channel 3 and HD was 3.1. Now, they moved NBC to 6 and there is no 6.1 (or 3.1). I can still find HD on 3.1 OTA and HD is still available through my HD boxes, but I want it back for my family room set. Anyone else in the Louisville area notice this? Guess I'm making a phone call tomorrow. Doesn't help me now watching Heroes!
![]() Edit: I re-ran a scan for digital channels after Heroes last night, and my NBC-HD showed back up at 3.1. Strange.... Last edited by My_Two_Cents; 10-07-2008 at 03:58 PM. |

FOX is gone as well. So is CBS.
I was talking to my Dad tonight and I asked him how he liked the Terminator show and Prison Break. he said they weren't on. I catch mine online (completely legally I'm sure) and had to look online for the news but apparantly TWC is not having a good week as far as cable companies pulling out. |

This happened in my area a couple years ago. In Iowa Mediacom is the biggest cable company. Sinclair Broadcasting owned the Fox affiliate in the Des Moines area (biggest market in state) and the CBS affiliate in the Waterloo/Cedar Rapids/Iowa City areas (about 500,000 affected people). Mediacom had always gotten the channels for free and refused to pay so the residents who had Mediacom lost those channels for about a month (I live in a town with a municipal cable company and was unaffected). This was in January so the Des Moines people missed the beginning of American Idol and the Waterloo area people missed the AFC playoffs. Finally Mediacom struck a deal the day before the Super Bowl and the people got to see that. Mediacom lost thousands of customers by holding out, as I'm sure Time Warner will. I don't like it, but soon everyone is going to have to pay to see the "free" channels on cable.

i still have NBC here near toledo ohio but they dropped fox... totally pissed cant watch the sarah conner chronicles in hd... have to watch it on the computer now...
from what i heard they werent able to negotiat a contract with fox so they dropped them? thanks Time Warner.... you would think a channels ratings would drop if they dont get any air time. Im wondering if the other local cable company buckeye has dropped anyone. I noticed they replaced fox with starz for kids... ugghh |

They're supposedly gonna stop production and just air the ones already in the can. The ratings are bad and Fox is blaming it for the bad ratings of Prison Break. They like Prison Break and want to move it to another timeslot. I liked the first season of Terminator, but this season has been pretty lousy. John Connor is the dumbest SOB alive. And if the future depends on him, we're well and truly "Effed" |

You do have an option other than switching to dish, u-verse, or direct. Put up an antenna. Not only will you get WDTN, but you'll also get it in HD and with less compression than TWC tries to pass off as acceptable. Depending where you live in Dayton, you'll be surprised how many stations you'll get with the right antenna. I'm all the way up in Huber and can get almost all of Cincy's stations as well. |

Damn, I'm in Maryland and not getting screwed that bad ![]() But we've never had NBC in HD here. I hate that ![]() ![]() Stupid cable company could get rid of one of the like 10 porn channels or one of the 4 CBS channels to make way for an NBC HD ![]() I guess I can't complain too much though, the cable company did recently add USA and Sci-Fi in HD to the lineup. Said they added them to better compete with dish network or something. |

![]() I would have already switched to Direct or Dish if everyone else in my house wasn't against it. Of all of the channels I want in HD, NBC would be my first choice. For now, I'll have to watch everything online until they work this out, and they'd better because NBC has the Super Bowl this year! |
