Default Picture quality, Dark Knight

I really have no clue where to post this, whether it be the HDTV section, or the dark knight mega thread, or where ever.

So anyway I go into circuit city the other day and they have their newest, nicest 120htz, etc etc samsung TV right as you walk in the store. Now every time I see the picture quality of the newer tv's I think it looks a LOT better than my crappy old 1080i hd picture I get at home. Well to get to my point I went in the other day and they had clips from dark knight playing and it was simply amazing! Like, the best picture I have ever seen...PERIOD!! It was like bluray on cocaine! I can't even describe how good it looked. I really thought the joker was going to come out of the tv and slap me! Anyone have any insight? They just release some new technology, or is dark knight just going to look that good. BTW it was the scene from the bank robbery...
