Default Audio Problem With DVD Playback

Newbie here so please bare with me.
I have the Sony BDP-S350 connected to the Yamaha RX-V563 receiver with Monster HDMI Cables.
When I play Blu-Ray discs ( Shine A Light, Song Remains The Same ) both the video and audio are perfect. However when I play DVDs the audio randomly cuts in and out. Sometimes you can get 10 to 15 mins. into a disc before it starts. Other times it starts to cut in and out on start-up.
As I have no problems when playing blu-ray discs I assume my HDMI cables are in good shape and all my connection are correct.
I'm guessing I don't have something configured right?
But I don't have a clue what to do. Please, can someone HELP!

The first thing I would do is swap cables and see if the problem follows the cables around.

Hello thank you for the reply,
I changed the HDMI cables around however I still had the same problem when playing a DVD.I don't have any problems when playing a blu-ray disc so I know the HDMI are good.
I now have the the the player connected with standard cables ( red, white, yellow) that fixes the cutting out problem. So I assume that the player is fine.
Is there audio settings I don't have configured right between the blu-ray player and the receiver when connected via HDMI. Again this problem is only when playing a DVD.

The next thing I would try is getting into the settings and playing around with them. I'm not familiar with your player, so I'm not sure what to recommend, but there's probably a DVD audio setting you can fool around with.
