Default Marking scenes for editing purposes

I think a good feature to add to Bluray technology would be a way to mark a beginning and end clip and rate it. For instance, to create a good copy of Transformers where they don't talk about masturbation or cuss, I had to rip the video from my DVD copy, import it into Windows Movie Maker, cut out the scenes I wanted to edit, then save it onto a Western Digital Media Player. Problem is, the free software I can get a hold of degrades the video quality, so it's all blurry and not high quality. I was thinking, Blu ray should implement a way to mark sections of the movie that can be removed when selected. The way I would imagine it would work would be to go to a scene, begin frame to end frame, mark it as say, "PG-13," then select "PG" version when playing it for the kids, and it would automatically skip the sections I marked. You could use it to edit R to PG-13, PG-13 to PG and PG to G.

My question, is this something that would have to integrated into BD tech or on the individual players? I would imagine that since the players themselves all have some onboard memory now, that you could save the marked clips to memory, so I'm thinking it would be a BD tech solution, independent of the player. My guess is that it would work sort of like BD Live where it detects that the player does not have the technology to do it and then disable it.

Second question, is there someone that I can suggest this too? Like a "Blu Ray suggestions" email?
