Thumbs up The ultimate Christmas fireplace on blu-ray

http://www.amazon.com/Yule-Log-Chris...4259103&sr=1-1

Some big pluses here. Most important that it appears to be wide screen. Naturally, it is high def. Three sound track options. So it can play up to 30 Christmas songs, or just the gentle crackle of the fire. Only a 75 minute run time.

Release is 10/21. I think this will be a must buy.

Experience the magical ambience of a real glowing fireplace that is sure to warm up any room. The Yule Log- Christmas by the fireplace features pristine high definition fireplace footage complimented by three Dolby TrueHD soundtrack options: traditional Christmas carols, sounds of the crackling fire and a combination of both. With over 30 festive holiday favorites, The Yule Log- Christmas by the Fireplace offers hours of holiday cheer while being mesmerized by flickering flames. Christmas never looked so good.

These Blu-Rays are so weird, what's the point, unless your television is a living and breathing demo room.

This works for me because I installed my TV in the fireplace.

I much prefer a real fireplace and an Ipod.
My folk's fireplace in Massachusetts is full HD and has special heating features. It's also in 3d and you can poke it.

I want a really good aquarium movie that looks realistic...all of the releases so far have been extremely sub-par.

It does! In fact I accidentally thought my house was on fire and called 911.

Heh, maybe this one will work for me. I bought one of the other fireplace blu-rays but it had an issue with the PS3 and I never got around to exchanging it. This one seems like a better idea in general anyway, having the Christmas music to go along with it.

$26, get the f**k out of here... This should be no more than $18... I have the HD Scape version and it's really disappointing... The image looks like 4X3 stretched into 16X9... They also zoomed on the fire instead of showing the full fireplace... If this version gets better reviews than HD Scapes I'll pick it up, but certainly not for $26...

Atmosphere. For example, I am throwing a Christmas dinner for some friends in December. The HDTV is litterly a couple of feet from the table. I also have a 4' fiber optic tree which will sit on a table a few feet to the left of that to complete the effect. I'm not big on decorations but I do that much.

I even have a simulated brick plastic roll up to use around the tree. Need another for the TV. It's the cheesy cartoonish brick, but it does the job.

Do you run the cable down the chimney, too?

Look at the specs.

Release Date: October 21, 2008

Region: All Regions
Aspect Ratio: 1.78:1
Number of discs: 1
Studio: Concert Hot Spot
Run Time: 75 minutes

Between the specs and description it should be a "pristine" HD image. Since you can change he sound track to just fireplace sounds, I presume it is merely a dead-on shot of a fire place. At least that is the hope.

That would look damn strange since I'm putting my TV over my fireplace.

Real fire in the fireplace and then the one on the screen???

The price kills it for me. Otherwise, I think it would be great for families that open presents in the livingroom on Christmas, just to add a bit of atmosphere and don't have a real fireplace.
