motorstorm: PR vs. PURE - Blu-ray Forum

i played the demo for motorstorm2 but not for pure. so im just asking which was better and i realize motorstorm2 isnt out yet.

Pure's like driving on rails, very little challenge to the racing. It's all about tricking and there's not a lot of depth to that either. You learn how complex (long) a trick you can pull off each jump of a track and then it's pretty much autopilot.

You can feel proper physics at play in MotorStorm PR, different centre of gravity in each vehicle type, skidding (or toppling over) when you turn sharply which you can help correct by pointing yourself in the direction and shooting some boost. Each track has multiple routes through different obstacles, each route suited to a range of vehicles which will go fastest that way. The racing is very aggressive in MotorStorm, Bike and Quad drivers are exposed and can exchange punches, their size and acceleration advantage makes up for their inability to combat the heavier vehicles. Even those vehicles have some combat moves now with boost on one side of the vehicle quickly activating to jerk a side-scraping opponent off-course.

Challenge and depth? It's M:PR for me.

I'd say, and I'm sure most would agree, Motorstorm hands down.

Downloaded both & prefered MS2. Did'nt like the stunt/tricks aspect of Pure.

well thanks for the input i might consider getting ms2( i dont know if i can fit it into my budget with all these other asome games).

Pure is like SSX on quad bikes, it's all about getting air and pulling extreme tricks to gain boost. It's fun, I enjoyed the demo.

MS2 is first and foremost a racing game and I absolutely love it. I can't wait to get MS2.

I preferred the racing aspects of Motorstorm but much preferred the controls and handling in Pure. After playing both demos, I have to say, Pure seemed more appealing to me, but I didnt like how tricks were performed

I prefer straight racing games so I went with Motorstorm. I like Pure, but I dont like how you always have to be doing tricks in order to keep your boost up and have a chance to win. Most of the time I prefer to race around a track and battle with the opponents and what not.

4 player split-screen sells me on Motorstorm alone, I almost always have friends over and this is the first decent racing game to come out for the PS3 with 4 P S-S. We almost always play my 360 or my Wii because of this issue alone.

Ironically, I'll actually be trading in Pure towards Motorstorm,
