Default World Series of Poker

Anyone else watching? We're only a couple weeks away from the final table. Kind of sucks that the final table people have been waiting since July to play but it's almost there.

I have never seen Phil Hellmuth go off on a guy as bad as he did this year. To call him an idiot 10+ times directly to the guys face and for the organizers to not do anything, that's messed up. Even Mike was standing up for the guy.

I really dislike both Phil and Mike the Mouth Matasow. Both think they are poker elitest, simply because they were in the game and racked up braclets before it was popular.

They aren't that awesome. Dan Harrington, Greg Raymer and Negrenau are better IMO.

I can't stand them either. Negrenau is my favorite player; it's awesome when he reads someone else's hand out loud.

Wether you like him or not Phil Helmuth is the greatest Holdem player in the world. He is much better then Harrington, Raymer, and probably negraneu no matter how much we like him.

I think the Le bro's are some of the best right now. Tuan Le and to a lesser extent his brother Nam represent the new generation of Poker. Negraneu would be third on my list.

I hope next year a pro makes the final table. Here's this years for November:
Seat 1: Dennis Phillips - 26,295,000 - 1st
Seat 2: Craig Marquis - 10,210,000 - 8th
Seat 3: Ylon Schwartz - 12,525,000 - 5th
Seat 4: Scott Montgomery - 19,690,000 - 3rd
Seat 5: Darus Suharto - 12,520,000 - 6th
Seat 6: David Rheem - 10,230,000 - 7th
Seat 7: Ivan Demidov - 24,400,000 - 2nd
Seat 8: Kelly Kim - 2,620,000 - 9th
Seat 9: Peter Eastgate - 18,375,000 - 4th

I want David Rheem to win.

I like the WSOP. Unlike World Poker Tour, WSOP doesn't always have to have stars at the final table.

The WPT has poker stars at the final tables because these are the guys traveling all over putting money up for the tourneys. There are alot that try to get in cheap through satellites though.

The Main Event at the WSOP hasn't had a professional because the field is so big and anything can happen. Which has been proven for the last few years ever since Moneymaker won and blew poker up.

Did anyone see that ruling they made? That's just wrong.

A player pushed 3 million in chips out and then brought it back and only bet 1.5 million. The floor managers ruled that that is a legal act as long as you never let go of the chips.

Thoughts?

i didnt see that, but as far as i remember, thats the correct ruling, if you havent taken your hands off the chips, they are not yet in play, just like in chess, the move is not complete until you take your hand off the piece

I don't agree with the ruling though because it's bordering on a String Bet.

Check out: http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/learn/rules.asp and look at Better & Raising, sections 8, 13, and 14. I haven't seen the play in question.

I found the video http://pokertube.com/Movies.aspx?movie=7857 Starts at 6:10

I think the ruling was correct. Keeping the hand on the stack was equivalent to saying "What IF i bet $3 million", and in both cases will allow for a read of the opponent.

As far as i knew the rule was if you moved chips forward it was considered a bet. I've played at the casino before and someone did that exact same move and the dealer made him put in the chips.

From other WSOP tournys i've seen on TV i swear i've seen the same exact thing happen and the person had to put the chips in. I think that guy blew that call big time.

I'm going to put that episode of the Main Event on my iPod touch and do this with my friends. If anyone complains then I can show it's an official ruling by the wsop.

The other problem I have with it is that in the card clubs here in Los Angeles, Commerce, Hollywood Park, and The Bike, the simple motion of pushing chips forward is interpreted as a bet. Floor managers will say so themselves.
