video conversion

I normally use Video9 psp converter but recently none of the vids I've converted will play, they show as unsupported data.

Anyone else find this and are there any alternatives?

handbrake is awesome, has presets for ps3 and psp, as well as ipod zune etc

That's fine for ripping DVD's but won't recognise existing AVI files, etc

I just downloaded handbrake but same as PSPvideo9 it wont convert files recorded on Play TV. Anyone know anything that will work?
