Are floor models warrantied through the manufacturer? - Blu-ray Forum

I'm not looking to buy one but i work retail and i'm just curious. I know last year and previous years manufacturers would list "floor models and show room models" under the NOT COVERED section of their warranty sheet. I have yet to find that anymore this year and i dont know if i should tell customers that it comes with warranty when it really doesn't. Anyone have any info on this at all??

Yes the warranty start the date is on the sale recipt.

yes they are but it is also a good idea to buy the extended waranty on any floor/display model product. i bought a display model Sony STR-DG1000 (one step away from the ES line) back in 2002 for a measly $450 including the 4yr. protection plan while the new in-box model was $799 at Best Buy. so, good luck man.
