With the rx-1700 what should my settings be on my blu-ray player:
BDP-S550. Also should it be saying PCM with it correctly, and should it be 5 Ch stereo on the front? I am just so confused. What about things like Entertainment blah blah blah? Can that be HD sound aswell? |

If your BDP-S550 is set to decode for Dolby True HD and DTS-HD MA, which it should, your Yamaha will have its PCM indicator light come on, which is correct. Yamaha's also have indicator lights on their face for each available speaker channel. I am assuming you're running a 5.1 channel setup? Then 5 channel symbols, plus the sub symbol, should light up for a 5.1 channel source. If you're in 2 channel stereo mode, then just the L R front speakers would light up.
Any of the secondary DSP modes you choose will be in lossless audio, when it's decoded by the player. |
