Sorry if this has been posted before but I could not find any thread about this movie so here we go (again?)

There are some reports on the net that this movie is currently being restored to a much more complete version, which would match (or almost match) the original roadshow version incl. the police radio calls during intermission.

Does anyone have more information about this?

I wonder if it has been possible to restore all of the missing footage/audio.

There is an article which is now a couple of years old and tells that a few minutes of audio and video are still missing. But at that time research work has not been completed so far.

And now that we have 2008 I wonder if we will see this great classic which is one of my favourites anytime soon and in which version...
