Default SAMSUNG 5084 Plasma

I bought this TV, in December, I was in love with this piece, but I feel like I might have rushed into this one, can anyone give me any reviews on the Samsung 5084 1080p Plasma?

I have the FP-T5884 (58" model) and I love it..my neighbor has the 63" and he loves his.....my opinion the best t.v. for what I use it for which is to watch high def movies. Obviously if I were a gamer...an LCD would be more appropriate vs. a plasma and since I couldn't really swing an ELITE...this was the logical choice for me.

The TV so far has been great for me...

Very sharp images and crisp picture.. The color is great too.. The blacks may not be as black as the Pioneer Elite but for 3g's more I can live without the blacker blacks...

Look at the blacks the TV produces it is very close to real black anyway... especially when calibrated to your liking..

Since you aren't gaming at all you will have nothing to worry about except stay away from 4:3 content that doesn't fill the screen.. Excessive viewing of that will cause some image retention.. but it takes a long period of time to do damage...

Thanks,...I do plan on gettin it calibrated, yeah everytime I watch it 4:3 I just zoom the screen to fit the screen. How do you like the anti burn protection?

It works very well..

In case you get any IR that is very visable you just turn on the white screen or the scrolling screen for 30-90min... depending how bad it is... after that it will be gone... Sometimes it only takes 5-10min but to be thorough the manual suggests 60-90min..

5084 has Outstanding Picture quality.
Great blacks ,brilliant color ,sharp picture and excellent screen burn protection settings.
It does have one setback, Many owners notice green pixel speckle after 1000 hours of use.
Its very noticeable in dark movie scenes / PS3 game play.
The fix is pretty simple , Call Samsung and they will send tech to adjust voltage .
All will be well.
