Default About A Boy & Definitely, Maybe - May 1, 2012 Pre-orders

About a Boy Blu-ray

Definitely, Maybe Blu-ray

Announced but I don't see the specs yet. I certainly hope that we get the special features that the UK releases didn't get.

Really like About A Boy and Definitely, Maybe might be the only movie where I like Ryan Reynolds.

Wasn't there some poster who just appeared for one post of "leaked" Universal titles that some were skeptical of and rightly so? Well, whomever it was seems to be someone who had good information, because I think he/she has been 100% correct so far.

About a Boy blew me away the first time I saw it because It came right out of left field. I was expecting it to be garbage.

Will pick it up, but maybe not right away depending on price point

I've got the UK copy of About a Boy, but I'll replace it with the US version if it has the extras. Great flick. BTW, anyone know if there are any differences between the two in terms of content? I know Bridget Jones's Diary and Love Actually had 2 different cuts released in the UK and US respectively.

I've always thought that Definitely, Maybe is a great father/daughter flick. I have two girls so the movie spoke to me. Might trade in my DVD if the transfer and special features are good. I hope Blu-ray.com does a review.

Ditto. I can't tell you how many times I almost caved and bought the UK release. But I always held off. Sure took em long enough.

Bridget Jones had a different end credits sequence and altered voiceover for the US (British English changed to American, for example "Alsatians" changed to "German Shepherds"). Love Actually just had two pop songs changed. I don't believe About A Boy was altered at all for the US release.

Hugh Grant usually gets on my nerves with his endless facial ticks but he's actually very good in About A Boy. Great film too! Looking forward to picking this one up too

I'm absolutely shocked that About A Boy is supposedly coming with all the extras from the DVD. Crazy. The UK got nothing.

I took a gamble when that post showed up, supposedly from someone at Universal, with a list of their catalog releases for this year (or most of them) and dumped my blus of these two films from the UK assuming we'd get extras.

Finally something goes my way.

In for sure for Definitely, Maybe. I was tempted to import it, but I'm obviously glad I didn't. It may not be coming with much in the way of special features, but a little is still better than nothing.

Some of them, but not all.

Just like the UK Notting Hill disc, which dropped the audio commentary.

DVD:
-Audio Commentary
-Making of documentary
-7 Deleted scenes (14 mins)
-2 music videos
-"Santa's Super Sleigh" lyrics
-English-to-English dictionary
-various text junk (bios, etc)
-trailers

Blu-Ray
-Audio Commentary
-Making of documentary
-"Santa's Super Sleigh" full version
-English-to-English dictionary

No deleted scenes! Music videos dropped (they were actually really good). Probably no trailer either.

Why, oh why does Universal keep porting SOME but not ALL of the features over from their DVDs. It's infuriating!!!

I would have bought this if it had kept all the features, but without them, no sale.

I said the same thing about American Pie and was told that all the extras will be on there, even though the press release didn't list all of them. Maybe the same is true here?
Or that poster is just lying.

I kinda liked the UK heart theme cover myself. Is this gonna have a Universal 100 Year anniversary slipcover? And it stinks that the deleted scenes are not going to be included. Next to a commentary, they're the only worthwhile extras to usually have on releases.
