Default How is Journey to the Center of the Earth?

I'm wondering how the movie is and how the effect of 3D wll work on a tv in your home.
If so what kind and size of tv do you have?
How is the 2D portion of the movie also?

Are we talking about that tv movie where they purportedly go to the center of the earth when in fact they are only maybe 20 kilometers deep at the most ?
Which is not even through the earth's crust. Well I hated it.

The only Sci-fi movie a little serious about this topic is "The Core"

I don't think a movie called Journey to the Center of the Earth's Crust quite has the same effect

Indeed so out of honesty and considering it is possible with CGI, they should have somehow gone deeper to the actual center and this being Sci-fi entertainment, they could have made a story where say a pocket of tunnels would be isolated and insulated from the core in fusion thus allowing them down without being burned or something. Anyways those story makers in Hollywood are well paid so let them come with something instead of a misleading movie title.

I don't suppose telling you that its just entertainment would go over so well. Many times I have to remind myself that it is just a movie and that I only want to be entertained.

Oh please I'm not a hater, I'm just giving you my opinion. I don't mind fictional movies but what would be wrong with actually going to the core ? wouldn't that be entertaining ? I did not like that movie, no big deal friend.

Haha touché !
You got a point dude and I am familiar with the story of Jules Verne having read it. But let us give this guy some credit, he wrote this like 150 years ago so this time around I wouldn't have blamed the producers if they had actually gone to the core with their film, that would in my humble opinion have been more entertaining.

Then there would be folks who like the book who complain about how Hollywood has to overdue books and ruin them.

i think the problem here and one that many didn't pick up on is that you're talking about a different movie. this movie we're talking about came out over the summer in theaters and was in 3-d. i don't know that i've heard of your tv version.

Well, being trained as a geologist and a biologist (MS in both), humans could not survive if we actually were able to get the center of the earth. The temperatures, pressures, gravity, etc. would be impossible for survival. Our equipment and tools would not function either.

There are times when we just have to let go of the facts. Most people already know that it's all fake anyway. It seems obvious.

The goal was to entertain, not give people a science lesson.

watched this today. the 3D is pretty good actually, some scenes i had to sit back in my seat a little. as for the movie itself, its better than what i thought it would be... not saying its GOOD but its not bad either. its a C movie. i say if your looking for a 3D movie to watch on blu and want to avoid Hanna Montana pick this up instead. just make sure you get a good deal on it
