Default 3D - Journey to the center of the earth

So I guess this movie is coming out tomorrow and just wondering whether it will be screened in 3D in all the theaters or only in selective theaters?

Anybody planning to go and see this one? They say its the first 3D digital presentation? May be I am wrong..Any opinions are welcome..

Well, I saw Beowulf in 3D at my local IMAX last November; its definitely worth the extra buck. I would like to see this movie tomorrow but I've pissed away my money on gas, beer, junk food, and bills. Knock yourself out and watch it with your g/f or whoever.

It would be better if it was an IMAX presentation..but unfortunately its coming only in local theaters..Just wondering is it going to be in 3D in all the theaters?

Pretty sure the commercials I've seen said "3D in select theaters."

Wait a minute. You've only seen Crystal Skull this Summer and you're next movie is going to be this one?

You should really go see Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Wanted, or Wall-E.

((I'm totally basing this off your post in the movies you've seen this summer thread))

I saw it on Wednesday but was just too busy to write a review. I have written Hellboy 2 halfway and haven't started on TDK.

The movie was fun but not a mandatory view. It's the first live-action 3D Digital film to be produced. The acting and VFX are pretty good and so are the 3D effects. But if you're watching it in 3D, make sure that the screen is big enough to cover your field of vision (but not too big that it gets overwhelming). That's when the 3D really pops up.

Journey will only be shown in 3D digitally. Imax is not involved with it. Imax at least for July and August will be screening The Dark Knight in 2D DMR. You can also watch Journey as a 2D film but the impact would be less.

If your local theater has 3D digital, consider yourself prepped up for next year, where there are lots more 3D movies coming out.

Not exactly, the National Geographic-produced U23D was the first live action 3D Digital film to be produced. This would be the first scripted live action 3D Digital film.

Saw the 3-D presentation yesterday... an average movie, at best, with the saving grace of 3-D to help push its ticket sales. I can't imagine it being that great outside of a 3-D showing, though.

Also, was trying to save some money by hitting up the matinee showing, but the theater was charging an extra $3 per ticket for the 3-D glasses.

It was a fun 3D movie, but I am not sure I will want to get this on disc. Without the 3D, I am just not sure how well this movie will transfer.

For a popcorn flick I give it an A+. Pure fluff and cheese, done well. I laughed many times, jumped many times, and lots of the "in earth scenery" was great looking. Personally, I believe the "in earth" stuff could look fantasic on Blu.

3d glasses usually makes things grainy, dark, and hard to see. Was it the case here?
