Default I want some damn anime

I've been waiting for some quality anime releases since I've owned my blu ray player, and I'm disappointed that companies aren't jumping on this yet. Not even one besides Dragonball Z (which I'm grateful for, even if the conversions are mediocre). I remember when bandai said they were only going to release Japanese versions in blu and English versions in hd dvd. I was so appalled, I felt like throwing up especially since AIR looked so beautiful in blu ray (hd dvd is dead now so bandai might revoke their decision). Does anybody know what's going on with the anime industry concerning blu ray?

Where's the good stuff? Death Note, Elfen Lied, Yu Yu Hakusho, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Code Geass, Berserk, Kenshin, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Full Metal Alchemist, Kanon, AIR.

Yeah, there's shitloads of anime coming out on Blu-ray in Japan (especially from Bandai Visual) but not much in the US. Bandai will be bringing some of their releases to the US (like the Gunbuster movies and Freedom) this year and Funimation is bringing Samurai 7. They're also supposed to release the Alabasta movie for One Piece sometime next year, although I don't think they've said when exactly.

Bandai Entertainment (separate division from Bandai Visual) is supposedly bringing some other movies like Innocence and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, plus they've said at a convention that they plan on releasing more Blu-rays next year, but haven't been very specific.

Media Blasters has said they're releasing a remastered version of Berserk on DVD, hopefully the new masters are good enough to be put on Blu-ray. Code Geass might come eventually from Bandai, but who knows when.

I agree with the bolded titles. The others...not so much.

Too bad FMA has one of the best stories and characters in an anime series. Give it a shot.

I liked the original gundam. I hardly remember it though...

A mecha series would look good in bluray.

oh hell yeah, Hellsing (both the original series and the new Ultimate ova) S-Cry-ed, Vandread, Witch Hunter Robin just to name a few. And it would kill my wallet but Kenshin the series and Ova would make me cream my pants.
