Before everyone jumps down my throat and kills me, I do not in any way agree with this.
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-10...CmoreStories.0 I have seen apple TV HD and to be honest, it is pretty terrible. How can anyone even make claims to how iTunes will claim Blu-ray as its next victim? |

Like my signature line says, we are creatures of hard media. Downloads serve a different market segment.
There is an old business analogy. When you shop around for a service, go with the first one the others bad mouth, because they are the biggest competitive threat. Especially if the bad mouthing happens before you ask about it. Don't let anti-blu-ray articles get to you. The majority of the world never sees them, or knows better as we do. ![]() |

That's funny. Why don't people understand you can buy Blu-rays for less than $20 in most cases. If you're getting a new DVD that just came out, it'll probably cost that much anyways. If you have Blockbuster's mail service, you can rent Blu-ray's for as much as DVD renting costs. That's what I have. I don't understand "you're forced to go all the way to Blockbuster to rent the Blu-ray for $6 each" rant. Poor article.

Lets see... Apple. Yeah, they killed off the CD, didn't they? I never see CDs in any stores whenever I go to them
![]() I have said it before, there is a BIG difference in downloading songs on iTunes, which you can get individual songs if you don't want the whole album, which I am sure a majority of their customers do. Now with movies, i don't think people would be as comfortable downloading them. With iTunes, unlike other companies, If your hard drive crashes, you have lost them. Apple does not let you redownload stuff you have already purchased from them, you have to pay for it again! |

its just some pissed off HD-DVD fanatic who doesnt want blu-ray to succede for whatever reason, so he now wants apple tv to somehow wipe out blu-ray...funny though, that he forgets to mention you need to buy an apple tv set and those go for $229 for a 40gb and $329 for a 160gb...thats no cheaper than a blu-ray player

I think of Blu-ray disc as just the carrier for the technology, there will be something better out there, there will also be better quality video standards in the years to come. It's good for now, but I don't worship the bloody thing.

Yea, and if downloading over the internet from iTunes is going to be the only way to get HD movies then I guess those of us who do not want to download will have to give up movies????

It does seem that there is a behind the scenes campaign at present to derail the uptake of blu ray as we head into the crimbo period. There are tons of these articules suddenly appearing. too coincidental.

Man, this article got destroyed by the posters at the bottom and rightly so.
"there's no difference on a smaller TV" yeah, .....right. Give it up already. My Blu-ray player was the finest investment I have made in years. I never once considered digital downloads. |

Say what they will, but we will see just how 'dead' Blu Ray is come this christmas shopping season. Hell, The Dark Knight alone will sell a lot of copies. As far as the digital copies being included with some BD's, I think Jobs is upset that he isn't seeing a dime of it.
