"Best" Threads - Blu-ray Forum

Can something be done about all the threads that are popping up (especially lately) that are focused on "The Best" Blu-Rays? Maybe like a sticky or something? It's actually hard to find the past threads because you can't search for the word "best." Thanx!

I agree.

There's getting to be a ton of junk friends that have no useful value at all.

Maybe massive thread merging, or cleaning house with deletes?

"The best" is getting very carried away.

Its a forum, people get bored and create threads to keep conversation going. Not a big deal I think

It will die away in time, Just like this thread and become a distant memory

I am sorry, do you know me? I thought this was the feedback forum, so this is where I left my feedback. Plus with the sticky idea, people could just look at the thread and see which are the highest recommended movies.

But if you have a problem with me, maybe you should just ignore my threads and comments. Obviously your post has no real use here, so I don't see the point of you coming in this thread. Plus, if you have a problem with me you're more than welcome to send me a private message.

But! If we had a sticky, people could continue their discussion IN the sticky! See where I am goin with that? Plus I think it'd be easier for new people to actually see which Blu-Ray's are the best and which are must buy's and all that jazz. Whoever starts it could even just continue editing their first post and have it be broken down for PQ, SQ and Features. That way a newbie could come along, see the first post and go "hey! I should get Casino Royale!"

EDIT: I made my own thread now using these suggestions. If it gets stickied, super duper. If not, then oh well, but at least I tried, right?!

i'd really hate to suggest more stickies, we have way more than enough. but i think a system like avs would be cool.

list from best to worst all the movies released (be it pq, sq, whatever), have votes on where the new movies should fall, etc.

thoughts?

I don't go to AVS that much (only to look at threads that deal with my equipment). Do you have a link to where they do that? It sounds like a pretty awesome idea. And I do agree with the stickies, there are quite a few of them.

and you know what, now that i've thought about it...being blu-ray.com and all..why havent we had a similar system all along

I agree a sticky would be nice, but the problem is there will always be people starting a new Best Of thread under the BEST OF - POST ONLY HERE sticky. I think people just get off on starting new threads of little value. Not to sound too cranky, but I would ban anyone who's thread is the title and then they only have "Discuss." as the content. I hate that.

That aside, I hope your thread takes off, is stickied, and becomes this forum's version of the Tier threads at AVS and cuts down on the redundancy!

it could almost take on its own subforum in the movie section.

it'd require some people with the proper set ups and the right eyes to really judge, and somebody who has the time to keep the list updated as such.
