Default Goo-Gone and Slipcovers..??

Is it safe touse Goo Gone on slipcovers? All of my Bond slipcovers have those movie cash stickers on them and when you peel them off it leaves a ton of residue and ink.. Has anyone ever used Goo Gone with success on their slipcovers?

Never used it on Slipcovers, but I usually use WD40 on the plastic of the cases. Goo Gone dulls the luster of the case and also leaves scratches. Again, not sure how either would work on a slipcover.

I had almost forgotten the frustration of the dreaded sticker residue, but I unsealed my copy of Deja Vu (won for free in that Blu-ray training awhile back, had seen the film shortly before I got it, so I never opened it) last week to find the old school top sticker/side and bottom security sticker combo. WD40 worked like a charm, but man, what a pain in the ass. I don't miss having to go through that with every disc. I wonder what was different about that adhesive vs. what they used on DVD's. The stuff they used for BD seemed only a couple steps shy of epoxy.

Never used the stuff myself, but I wouldn't even risk using it on a slipcover.

You can do a couple things to get rid of the sticky residue and ink.

One would be to take the e-movie cash sticker and press it down again then pull it back off. And another I tried was to use one of those stickers on the tops on the BD releases, just keep pressing it on and peeling it back off. Takes a few minutes but worked for me.

Someone in another thread suggested using tape as well.

I've been using lighter fluid to safely remove labels and residue from CDs for 15 years (even on DigiPaks). Never, ever use Goo Gone; it eats plastic!

Alright I've got some good news for all of those OCD guys out there, like me..

I went to Wal-Mart and picked up the spray bottle version of Goo-Gone. It looks just like a bottle of Windex, but the fluid is orange. I sprayed a small amount on a paper towel and gently rubbed the residue left on the slipcovers on all of my Bond blu-rays. I then took a slightly dampened paper towel and wiped away the excess. Finally I dried the slipcover with a cloth. Not only did the Goo-Gone completely eliminate the glue, but it also removed the ink left behind by the sticker. Also, there was absolutely no discoloration or damage to the slipcover at all. I cannot recommend this stuff enough. So, if you are anal about sticker residue go pick up some Goo-Gone, just make sure to get the weaker spray bottle version.

Easiest option and doesnt work with the movie money very well(it has extra goo) but use a heat gun or hair dryer, couple seconds, get it hot, comes right off

That's exact;y what I did and it worked perfectly on all 6 Bond slipcases.

I have had no issues using goo gone on slipcovers. It has not eaten the plastic or done any damage to any of mine. I have had to use it on 5 or 6 covers that had the residue left on them.

This method will not harm slipcovers. I use it all the time.

The simplest, cheapest, and best solution: rubbing alcohol. All you have to do is use a q-tip to dab some on the cover and rub over it a few times. Any residue will come right off. No stains at all and it dries almost instantly. This is 100% dependable.
