Caligula pushed back?! - Blu-ray Forum

Did anyone else see on this site that the release date of Caligula has been pushed back to January?! I was kind of hoping to get it in November, but I guess if they have to fix some stuff to make it a perfect transfer then I guess it will be worth it.

? I could be wrong, but if so, which version is it?

Besides "that" aspect of it, the story of Little Boots is really interesting.

I was kind of impressed by this movie when I was a young teen. Much later afterwards when I saw it again it did not seem quite impressive anymore.
I'll pass upon HD release.

I'm interested in the commentaries....I didn't snag up the imperial edition so this will be my chance to.

Looks like amazon.com is selling Caligula as an exclusive release NOV 4th!!!! Until the full release in January... I wonder if it is the same extras etc as the JAN 6th release. Amazon.com doesn't list much information but I would guess it is the same thing just an earlier date for amazon.com

I went ahead and did a Pre-order. It says it is the IMPERIAL edition.

About the life of Caius Augustus Germanicus of course (aka Caligula, or little boots).

According to himself, Malcolm McDowell's best role.

Caution : This is not an action/epic movie.
But if you liked Federico Fellini's Satyricon, go for it.

I preorderd it thru amazon.com should have it next week, curiuous to see if the image quality will be better than the standard DVD release... according to some review incl. dvdbeaver.com the image was soft because of how it was shot ... but also nothing extraordinary.. for the price though of the Blu Ray seems cheap at any rate.

Mmmm...according to an interview included in the latest editon of A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, Mr. Malcom (as all the actors involved, as far as I'm concerned) is instead pretty embarrased when talking about this movie.

Yeah he does a commentary trk on Caligula but he blasts it mostly. BUt i heard the commentary tracks are worthy enough for the purchase.

Strange that amazon has it 4th of november and the rest 6th of januari.
Maybe image entertainment had some copies made and discovered an error in the disc and pushed the release back to januari 6 to solve the problem?
And amazon is selling the discs with errors??

I have no idea, but does anyone know more??

It is an exclusive release for Amazon.com much like that of Kiss of the Spider Woman now that one is due out I think next week to all retailers.

which is kind of the point, he like Director Brass, didn't see eye to eye at all with Guccione
