Default Blu-ray mentioned in daily Metro paper comic strip

There was an entertaining comic strip in a local newspaper this morning.. A man was sitting at the desk of his eye specialist. On the wall was a chart for eye tests.. and there were a few pairs of glasses on the eye specialist's desk. The speech bubble for the eye speacialist said..

"You are not going blind. Real life is not as sharp as a HD tv and a bluray player.."

Made me laugh! But it got people asking "what's a blu ray player??" I had to explain to a few people beside me, but I guess its another way of raising awareness!! It was in a free newspaper which is free in the city so there could be many people this morning thinking about that comic strip and wanting to know more about blu ray players!!

I've had to explain many many times and what seems to really get John and Jane Q onboard is when I let them know they can still enjoy their DvD collection. The sigh of relief I get every time just builds the bricks of a Blu Christmas.

I should start charging BestBuy a consulting fee for all the lectures I've given in their Blu-ray isle.

there was one a little back i think it was from Lola (that old lady) comic strip.

Her grandkid comes in holding a disc and said something like, wanna watch a movie.

Grandma was like, I'd love to watch a DVD.

Kid was like, this isn't a DVD this is a Blu-ray disc.

Grandma goes something along the lines of, "but i just got a DVD player!"

Ha, Ha, Ha!!!!! Funny, just kidding, the only reason you guy's like these comics is that it's related to Blu ray. But other then that I bet these comics on a normal Basis suck. But, whatever.

Why do all the scammers buff their posts by crapping on threads like this? It makes no sense to me. At least they MIGHT make positive posts, because people DO read their posts. Having positive posts COULD get a good number more of us to fall for their scams....

Back to topic. I'm glad someone is trying to spread the word about Blu-Ray. Maybe when Tropic Thunder's commercial trailers come out, they will replay the segment where nerd boy is talking about BD

haha yeah me too especially back in the days with hd-dvd because back then i saw a whole bunch of customers at best buy in the hd-dvd/blu-ray aisle with confused looks on their faces wondering which is better so i would go up to them and tell them how great blu-ray is and i still do that with customers at best buy who are unsure if they should get a blu-ray player or not

Yep, dead on. No, I only buy the movie if I feel as though I will want to watch it again. Which is why buying Drillbit Taylor was a mistake. I prefer to rent movies that I have my doubt's about. And I just want to say that the comic isn't even funny, I mean most people know what Blu Ray is and they don't want to invest in it. I've never had somebody ask me what is Blu ray but people do ask me whats the diffrence between Blu ray and DVD. And I simply say that it's an upgrade in everything.

yeah well i think the illustrator uses DVD in the sentence as, certainly here in Ireland, most people do not know what a blu ray player is!! This just makes it easier for people to understand, perhaps..
