Arrow Strangers 2

I never saw the original. I read most comments here that said it started off really good and seemed to fall apart at the end. Well, it was successful enough to spawn a sequel.

Quote:
Honestly, I gotta say this bit of news came a lot later than expected. ‘The Strangers’ came out May of 2008, it cost $9 million, and it made $52 million in domestic. ‘The Strangers 2′ should have been fast-tracked with Rogue Pictures throwing all kinds of cash in Bryan Bertino’s direction to get the writer/director back on board.

Instead, the news comes out today, nearly 14 months later, that ‘The Strangers 2′ is set to begin shooting this coming Fall. What’s more, it doesn’t appear Bertino will be returning. Instead, French director Laurent Briet will be filling the director’s chair. This will be his first feature film, as he has previously worked on music videos and special effect for ‘The Ring.’

Bertino will be returning as screenwriter for the sequel. Rumors are that Liv Tyler will be returning to reprise her role from the first film, but nothing has been confirmed.

The first movie seemed to be one of those love it or hate it movies. I really enjoyed the first one. My fear is the 2nd one will be a direct to video movie similar to Vacancy 2.

I thought the first one was pretty good. However, I don't think the sequal will be anything special. Just an attempt to cash in on the success of the first film.

The first one started really great, the ending just dragged a little. I would of shot them first chance.

Vacancy 2 wasnt that bad, probably better then the first.

Soooooo boring, barely that good at all. I enjoyed Vacancy more than this though.

I thought The first film was one of the most tense movies i've seen in a very long time. If they can manage to duplicate the atmosphere and tension then I think this has the potential to be a very good movie (Especially if they bring back Liv Tyler). I just wish the original director would come back to direct.

I did not like the first one at all. It started off ok and the movie had a good synopsis, but the ending left me feeling that is it?

Not the same case. The Strangers was a box office success and a theatrical follow up is all but guaranteed.

I'll give you the ending.... The ending wasnt that great but I try not to judge a movie based solely on the conclusion. For my money, the ride getting to the ending far exceeded the disappointing ending.

The first started well, got better, advanced to awesome, and then became a laughable piece of trash. Which was a pity, because the ratcheting up of tension was palpable....... until.....(sound of toilet flushing) It was so good that I was actually a tiny bit angry that it ended SO poorly.

I really don't understand what people see in 'The Strangers.' The entire movie was just three delinquents playing peekaboo with the viewer and that's it. We see one of them peek around a corner, and then when Liv Tyler turns around there's nobody there. Rinse, lather, repeat about 100 times and there you go. What a cheap movie.

Agreed. I welcome a sequel. It was the best "terror" flick in a long while. Young, desensitized kiddies don't like it cause it barely had any blood and guts. I like this flick cause it can actually happen.
