I would think S-Video inputs...does your JVC have them?

...or for that matter does your computer have the s-video out?

If it's a JVC HDTV then it should have the S-Video connection. Some TV's have the VGA connections as well.

If your video card has DVI you can get a DVI to HDMI adapter and go that route. S-video should also work with no problems. I hook my comp to the TV all the time with the DVI to HDMI adapter that came with one of my vid cards. Call of Duty 4 looks amazing on my sony.

DVI-HDMI is the best way to go. After that it's VGA-VGA. Anything else is gonna look like crap.

BINGO

I hooked my laptop up to my 40" samsung with S-video, looked terrible. Couldnt even read smaller letters on the screen.

I have since hooked it up with both VGA and DVI-HDMI, and i honestly think the VGA was clearer.

i don't have a laptop and my computer is about 3-4 years old. plus it's not top of the line. it's just a computer. i do believe it has an s-video plug though, but i'd have to check. i'm not looking for the absolute best quality. i just want to watch some movies on my tv that are on my computer. anything will be better than the monitor.

I have a Dell xps 420 with a ATI Radeon HD 3870. Im trying to connect it to my oldish flat LCD Samsung HD monitor via a DVI-HDMI converter to HDMI on the TV.

The picture quality looks bad compared to the DVI to VGA connection. The picture looks squished or blurry in the HDMI connection. When I adjust the overscan to 0% it looks better but it cuts off my screen. I also can no longer play my blu-rays.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I hope Im not stuck with the current DVI to VGA connection. Thanks. Glenn

I use DVI to VGA and it looks great. Let us know if you solve the issue with DVI to HDMI. I would suggest experimenting with all of the settings for your video card to see if you find something that improves it.
