not really. L4D is the first zombie apocalypse multiplayer with online capabilities period.

but it is out on PC, so if your friend has a PC, tell him to pick it up on that and buy the better system

the game looks like a lot of fun. i only played the demo but that was a good time. there were a few problems that really bothered me (characters move WAY too fast, there is no button to steady your aim), but they do a good job of being unpredictable with zombies. even if you play the same levels multiple times the zombies come from different spots every time.

Not true. PS3 has had Monster Madness: Grave Danger for a while now. Sure it's a completely different style of game, but it is still a multiplayer zombie apocalypse game with online play. I would rather have Left for Dead though.

lol. i knew someone would try and pull something like this. i normally wouldn't be this nit-picky, but since you brought it up, Monster Madness: Grave Danger is not a ZOMBIE apocalypse game, it is a MONSTER apocalypse game. yes, there are zombies in the game, but everyone knows there is a big difference between a zombie apocalypse and a monster apocalypse (zombie apocalypses are just cooler ok )

might as well throw in the last guy as another "zombie apocalypse game,"

I read in the latest Game Informer that EA wants to bring it to PS3 but Valve says they're too busy (lazy) to do a port and it would have to be something EA handled on their own.

maybe it's because they don't think it would pay off.

Left4Dead, with its 4 hour long solo campaign (and multiplayer maps being the same as the single player ones), belongs on the PC where you can find it for $39.99 instead of the $59.99 for 360.

This being said, RE5 arrives soon (early 09) and will imo be better, and if Survival horror is what you are looking into all thsoe titles provide that on PS3:

Siren:Blood Curse, COD5 (zombie mode), DeadSpace, Fallout3, Bioshock PS3...

I've read somewhere on-line and in Play magazine that the head honcho of Valve hates the PS3 and how to him its a waste of technology that isn't needed. He has stated that he has no desire to develop anything for the PS3 and at all costs avoiding it. It's pretty sad as there are many PS3 gamers out there who want L4D.

You're thinking of fat ass Gabe Newell, he hates the PS3 with a passion, other people at Valve have expressed interest mentioning the bigger userbase and the sales of games on the platform, and if EA wants to bring it, they will, hopefully a good port unlike The OB.

Tell him to get it on PC. That's probably what I'm going to do.

Bioshock made the move to the ps3 , the ex-box can keep all their other exclusives..
(Gears is not coming anyways )

Well people at Valve have supposedly been set aside to optimize EA's ported Source engine for PS3. So if it does come it will be better than OB...

Actually, from what I have read, Microsoft's contract for Gears only extends to the first 2 games. It has been speculated that Epic could easily make Gears 3 mulitplatform.

The Nazi Zombie mode on Call of Duty is a lot of fun.

See this is a sorta misquote, the original quote was Gabe bashing all console systems, and going into detail of why he hated each specific one.

Sadly people only remeber 1/2 of the bashing and forget the other 1/2.

Hes a hardcore pc user its going to take awhile till his eyes are opened..

You can say he lives in the past and is finding it hard to let go...
