How I Live Now Blu-ray Review

Quote:
Magnolia Home Entertainment has officially announced and detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of acclaimed director Kevin Macdonald's latest film How I Live Now (2013), starring Saoirse Ronan, George MacKay, Harley Bird, Tom Holland, and Anna Chancellor. The release will be available for purchase on February 11th.

Daisy (Ronan), a teenager from New York, is sent to the English countryside for the summer to stay with cousins. She soon immerses herself in a dreamy pastoral idyll as she falls madly in love with Eddie (MacKay), until their perfect summer is blown apart by the sudden outbreak of a 21st century world war. Along with Eddie's younger siblings, Isaac (Holland) and Piper (Bird), they are left in isolation and forced to fend for themselves. When they are violently separated Daisy must embark on a terrifying journey in order to be reunited with the boy she loves. Eddie is never far from Daisy's mind but as her journey to find him becomes more desperate, the idea of what she may or may not find consumes her consciousness and haunts her soul.

Special Features:
  • AXS TV: A Look at How I Live Now
  • Theatrical Trailer

I've read mixed things about this one but I'll check it out from the library. Saoirse Ronan is always good in any role.

What if she was to play Abraham Lincoln?

I saw this. It was very boring. I love Ronan, but her character was mostly annoying.

Definitely rent (or don't watch at all). Don't blind-buy this.

I liked this a lot, definitely not a blind buy type of movie though.

Better than most films based on YA novels and surprisingly harsh for a film aimed at teenagers.

I blind bought this and ended up really enjoying it. I just love Saoirse Ronan!
I'm actually surprised there wasn't a thread posted about this film until today. lol

I bought this a blind buy a couple of weeks ago. Finally got around to watching it the other day and I liked it.
