How much does the next generation of gaming cost?
With the recent 1up article there has been a lot of fuss over how much the next generation of gaming costs. This should help you figure it out. Was that investment you made the most cost effective one? Enjoy!

Buying the cheapest BD player on the market, which does 1080p, which my TV does? Yes, it was a wise investment. People spend money on what they enjoy, and I enjoy movies very much. It's in the eye of the beholder (some people would think my home theater isn't worth it, but then I might think some of their hobbies are pretty dull).

Ridge Racer 7 is an investment (after being thrilled playing it on a public store)

So yeah, I'm getting a PS3 because of it.

Ridge Racer 7 is definately worth it, especially if you have the right setup. Owning a PS3 is as good as it gets; just don't forget to get a Wii, that has some good value as well.

it's only so expensive because they put HD into the gaming while HD was still expensive...

but the time next-gen systems come out...I don't think they would be supporting a new format in this regard...

maybe MS tries to one up the whole BD idea and come out with a whole different format....but if everyone goes BD in the next format, I don't know how systems will be any more than 400 bucks...
