Default Generation Gap-less

Watching movies with your parents or grandparents might not seem so appealing to some, probably due to tastes and restrictions that are made to be "family friendly." What movies in your personal case have broken the Generation Gap between you and your elders?

My mom hates horror, so I get her to watch it whenever possible. She really liked Halloween though.

I think I've seen every Seagal movie with my dad. And Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Van Damme, Norris, Bronson, and Willis.

Thats really cool to have those bonding moments, sounds like you are close with your parents which is great.

Well, my parents love the Apatow stuff which I never thought they would. We recently watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall together and they couldn't stop laughing which made me happy to see them love the movie as I do. My mom usually hates rude comedies but she enjoyed both Knocked Up and Superbad a lot.

Me and my mom have very similar tastes. I'm more open to indie and foreign but she's not exactly closed off.

I get a little annoyed that she won't try Buffy and it's my favorite show. What can you do though?

You should consider yourself lucky. When I lived at home TV/movie viewing was limited to when my dad went to work, it wasn't a co-op thing in my house. My mom was a Soap Opera/ talk show viewer. Maybe thats why I see so many movies, i'm trying to catch up for lost time?
