Default Panasonic SA-XR700

I should have this in about 2 weeks:
This is ideally paired with the Panasonic BD player.... Heres some highlights:
Being able to pass 1080p via HDMI.
Being able to pass LPCM 8 channels(7.1) via HDMI.
Selectable crossover frequencies.
7.1 100wat per channel.
Decodes every "last generation" sound format.
Bi-amp capabilities.
Wireless port for rear speakers or a different room.

Some limitations:
More selectable crossover frequencies(lowest is 80).
Cant select crossover frequencies for different speakers(only one choice for all).
Would of liked some kind of room correction abilities.
A meatier amp or at least pre outs.

Anyone else thinking about it???? Im a little concerned that it reminds me of a HTIB... but with the list of features and a list price of almost a grand(can be found for cheaper) it appears to be a good choice.

Well do you know anybody with a PS3? Since the Panny still hasn't had any firmware yet for you to experience TrueHD. Too bad the PS3 still hasn't had the firmware for DTS HDMA. Otherwise, you'd be set.

The only thing that kind of annoys me, in general, is this little bit of uncertainty as to what the PS3 can and cannot do vs. what kind of receiver you need to get the most of it.

I'm 95 percent convinced does NOT need HDMI 1.3 as far as audio considerations are concerned, even with the PS3.

Default Panasonic SA-XR700 Upconvert Component to HDMI?

Hello,

I just bought the Panasonic SA-XR700 to replace my JVC RX401S. Both are digital amplifies and both support HDMI. However, the JVC did not support Full 1080p HD signals (like the one from my PS3) so I decided to upgrade.

Now I have a new problem. It does not appear that the SA-XR700 will take my Xbox 360 component inputs and output the signal over the HDMI cable to my Sharp Aquos LC42D62U.

Did I make a huge mistake, or am I doing something wrong? Is there a digital receiver similar to either of these models that supports Full 1080p and upconverts the older inputs to HDMI? Better yet, one with 3 HDMI inputs? If not the latter, then I'll at least take the former!

Thanks for your help.

Default Pany SA-XR700 HDMI 1.3 ?

I just cjecked the specs for the xr700. It says it will be upgradeable to Dolby TrueHD via firmware update. But nothing is mentioned if it's HDMI 1.3.
