Default Sony KDL-46Z4100/B

I was looking at this TV at best buy and I really liked the picture of it. How does everyone else rate this TV? Or, is there something better out there for around the 1500 dollar range for a 46 inch?

If you can get that for $1500, that is a really good deal. Its counter part would be like a Samsung 46" 650 series.

From what I've seen, it is an amazing tv, and the specs seem to be the same as the xbr's with 1080p, 120hz, 10 bit color and all... and if you can find it with the $1500 price tag (which I beleive you can still find on amazon) I would go for it.

The feedback on this TV is very positive after the "sparkle" defect has been corrected through a Firmware release in September. I would hope that all new sets have this or later versions at this point in time.

This model lacks the deep color feature which is present in the XBR line. However, the form factor of this set is less than 3 inches which no other Sony set can match (XBR6 and other sets are around 5" depth I believe).

There are several technical differences between the "Z" and the "V" series and you can search for a comparison matrix to list all of these.

No "sparkle" defect on mine. I got the Z 40" for $1500 so I think you're getting a great deal!

I bought thisTV from Amazon for 1459.99 46 inch, received 40.00 rebate delivery did not do white glove service. On a scale 1-10 TV gets a 9. Sound for the tv is ok. The pitchure is mindblowing in HD and Blu Ray. Have mine hooked up to a pioneer 94 receiver and pioneer 51FD blu ray player, with 5.1 boston acoustic mc 130 with sub. You won't be sorry buying this tv.

A friend of mine just got one of these recently and is happy with it. We didn't setup the blu-ray player while I was there but the HD cable content looked good.

Seen one of these at CC and I did love the pic quality, it was superb. My only complaint is that the design was very basic which means it has no "looks" to it at all. But it may not be an eye catcher but the pic quality like I said is excellent.

I was reading in the discussion section on the amazon page for this that all these people were having problems with the stands on the tv they bought. It was noticeably tilted forward...wasn't sure if anyone had had the same issues with theres

I don't think this tilt effect affects the 40" version. At least not with mine.

Congratulations!

Let us know how it goes after you have put some hours on it. How is the off angle viewing by the way?

Enjoy your new set!
