United Kingdom UK SteelBook™ Collector wanting in on the action

Does anyone know of any impending plans to share some of the steelbooks with us UK peons.

There are some good films out there that I would like to add to my collection but alas they are either Region A (Bonds) or German (I am Legend).

Has anyone heard anything on whether these are going to hit the UK market or not, I wanna get in on the sexual looking steelbook action or must I buy an American PS3 just to watch them lol

Thanks

All the German versions are fine since they are region B or region free. Just go to amazon.de. If you do not understand the website pretend to buy something on amazon.com or amazon.co.uk and press the buttons in the same positions. I think there is only one step you can't do on the english side without really buying something, but you should be ok.

As for the USA steelbooks. Simply put, most are region free but not all. I usually find an ebay person willing to ship international. It costs a bit more but oh well. If you want something you have to pay the price. IJ4 and Ironman are region free titles from futureshop, but they don't ship to Europe unfortunately, hence the ebay thing.

You are limited to buying the same ones as me so no sympthy there They should abolish the regions, zones whatever you want to call it, I said that since DVD came out.

As for Steels, there is no doubt they look awesome, I just couldn't cope with having the text in German on the back, it would infuriate me.

I could buy the DVD steelbook and put the BD in there I suppose but it wouldn't be the same.

I am just an awkward SOB when it comes to my movies, I can be a little anal at times.

So far I have Ironman (can), IJ4 (can) and Leon (DE) steelbooks.

Fight club is on its way to me right now (DE) and I have Batman TDK coming from DE and Can. UK wanted is on its way too

I'm not really bothered about the text on the cases because its usually minimal anyway. Even the Canadian releases have French on the back. To be honest I think the ratings on the UK editions are more of an eye sore.

I always liked the '18' certificate a lot. It's so visible and stern-looking. Maybe it's because my favorite color is red. I also think the UK content descriptors are awesome for the same reason.

i'd prefer to have them on the back cover, as i'm sure most would. why ruin the front of the cover with something pointless like that

I see your point. Honestly, I have wondered why they are on the front, too. It's probably just a convenience for ultra-lazy parents when they're browsing with their kids, since UK ratings are more seriously enforced than the US ones.
