What type of SteelBook™ collector are you?

I was just wondering what my fellow blu steel enthusiasts do with there purchases.

Im too impatient...I open them and watch them. If I had more money I would buy several to save for a while and sell them later. The way I see it is blu-rays are $25-30, for $10-15 I can get an awesome case.

Open them up, check out that awesome packaging, then place it in the 'still to watch' blu-ray pile.

My first 6 SteelBooks I opened as soon as I received them... But for some reason I've yet to open Hancock and Iron Man which are my newest ones...

i've got the dark knight steelbook pre-ordered. so we'll see what that does to me when i finally get it. may pony up the dough and get the iron man steelbook on ebay, we'll see.

I just started my steelbook collection. Got Hancock, Iron Man, and a 007 movie(not sure which). I open them and watch them. Usually only go steel if its a fair price and looks better then normal.

I have none as the US seems to not want to sell them to us as we never get steelbook editions.

I just received my first BD Steelbook the other day (Wanted) and I do plan on watching it sometime this weekend.

Just have the one steelbook release; Leon, imported from Germany. But any future ones i will also open and watch then keep

Exactly why would anyone keep them sealed?

These are mass-marketed consumer products. They won't be worth any more money in a decade. If anything, they'll be essentially worthless curiosities.

Movies, like toys, are made to be opened and enjoyed. Not kept in plastic hoping for some artificial value to increase.

But collectors generally don't buy SteelBooks for the movie. They buy it for the uniqueness of the cases. Why else would you pay extra money and often import them from other countries at exorbitant cost when you can buy a domestic release on sale for fraction of the cost. You can't apply conventional logic when it comes to value of a collection (whatever it may be).
