I suggest that you read Building & Upgrading Subwoofers thread. It will help you with building your subwoofer. Document your work with pictures and post them there.

A 6" port is HUGE, I'd be skeptical of even going that big without doing some calculations first. I read an entire book on subwoofer cabinetry and adding ports gets pretty complicated. The size and length of each port depends on port diameter, driver parameters, and the desired tuning frequency of the box(whew!) Change any one of those and you have to recalculate your port size, length. Sometimes, depending on the driver specs, your port length may end up being multiple feet, not inches... That's why they make different diameters, so that you can hopefully cut the length down with a larger diameter.
The good news is that it's not rocket science and even if you mess up, you can do it again - that's half the fun anyways ![]() As for your selections, the first amp(the bash one) looks better to me, and the driver looks pretty solid as well. I would think that you could make a very respectable sub with that combo. One thing to be careful of - that free-air equivalent(Vas) for that driver is rather large at 324 liters or 11.45 cubic feet. You will have to have a very large box to get really deep bass from this sub. Something along the size my my subwoofer(<--see pics) As long as you don't mind a large box, that is a good driver. |
