Default Christmas Vacation

I've been reading some bad reviews about the picture quality on blu-ray. Does anyone have it that can share their opinion?

I have it and pretty much agree with the review. But in this case I'm less concerned with the PQ/AQ. It's about the movie itself. It's one of those must-have Chrismas titles.

Got this last year and was pleasantly surprised with the PQ after reading some reviews. It's as good as it's gonna get with this flic for now. My all time favorite xmas film so I'd say go for it.

I agree, it is a must have Christmas title. I would definitely say the PQ on this movie is better than DVD version.

This is one of those situations where you might as well get the blu-ray if you love the movie (as do I, definitely my favorite Christmas movie).

However, based on the reviews and opinions I've heard, you may prefer to just keep the DVD version and enjoy the upscaled look. I only say this because a regular movie like this doesn't really scream "I must be seen in Blu-ray!!" It's not a special effects type of movie where everything is eye-popping and giving off a 3-D look.

It's a Christmas classic, who cares about the PQ.

I agree with Stewie Spartan. Christmas Vacation is just plain ole holiday fun. Having it on BD is a must for us die hard Blu-ray fans (even if the PQ/AQ is less than stellar).

Audio

Christmas Vacation is presented in a Dolby Digital 2-channel audio track only. What is there to say, really? It sounds fine, all things considered. There’s not much in the source material to work with, and it’s very front heavy with the vast majority of the sound emanating from the center channel speaker. Obviously, there is very little ambience or activity from anything in the rear, but there are a few effects and music bleeding into the left and right front channels. There is little to no bass to be heard. As a dialogue driven comedy, not much more is to be expected. Said dialogue comes across pleasantly enough; there's nothing that ever really distracts from or hinders it. I cannot say this is a disappointing soundtrack because I expected so little from it. As such, this Blu-ray disc sounds fine.

The film looks basically identical to the DVD upconverted, it's really not impressive at all. I think the upgrade for the pop-up menus is good enough for me, since it's an awesome film.

"Shitter was full!" I'm going to pick this up finally. I don't even care if it has lossy audio. This is the best of the Vacation movies.

Hmmmm...I could still cancel my order, but I would then get another $19.99 movie on amazon. Anyone have any suggestions for a good $20 movie?
