Default Anthem pva 7 amp, useing reciever for preamp

I`ve been keeping my eye`s open for something like this,
can someone help me.

Iam wondering if this amp is worthy for my home.
I am all new to this .
I have always just used my reciever, but my audio standards have been getting bigger.

What would an amp like this do for me,Remember i live in Canada. They want $2000 for it but if i go for it i`ll be brigging the price down

So tell me boys what do you think of the PVA 7

I'm very happy with my MCA-50 from Anthem .. it's very well built, customer service was great (and free) when kids shorted one of the channels. I can't see ever needing to replace it.

If I am understanding your response correctly, then I would say you are right and wrong at the same time.

1. Yes, seperates are more expensive (power amp, preamp). In return they provide you with better sound and build quality as they are dedicated to one specific task and not 3 (power, pre, tuner).

2. You're wrong when you say it is only useful for rooms that are over 350 sq.ft. You should buy amps for better sound, regardless of room size. Loudness isn't a factor in determining whether to go with seperates or an A/V Receiver.

Better amps will sound better with cleaner sound along with better imaging, soundstage, depth, highs, lows, mids, etc. More powerful amps, which again are frequently more expensive, will also have reserves for greater dynamics and better bass response.

The Amp looks ok if you are into digital amps but i would also look into what outlaw can offer for same price or was it half price. I forgot

However if you are looking for sound quality upgrade i would start by getting speakers of same brand\series and size if possible. I see you have psb center and mirage bipolars for fronts?

Trust me the center is in my game plain.

I had a Paradigm cc-270 and someone had this PSB center that sounded better with my fronts so i gave him the Paradigm and 25 bucks.Just to have a little more better timber match then the cc-270

I just can't go to the store and purchase the MC-SI when i want.
In god's time i'll get it.
It seems when i want something i never get it when i want it,but i do get it (the back surronds and rears are good enough and iam not worried about them at all).

So iam still moving forward with my system.
My first question is will i still be able to use all my DSP modes?

I don't even know how to hook something like this up .Like i said iam all new to this

Your situation is way too familiar .
Yes you can use whatever dsp mode you want (question is why would you use dsp mode? (im thinking stadium or church lol mode" )

You hook it up with regular rca cables. 7 outputs on your reciver and 7 inputs on your new amp . left chan conncets to left chan on your power amp and so on.

That sounds easy enough.

With the dsp modes i like using Standard, mono movie for older movies(it really sounds good),and hall of Vienna for most of my live concerts on Blu.

You hate the DSP modes or You love them, thats pretty much how it works

1) Do i turn the amp way up and control it with my recievers volume,This is the part that confuses me ?(how to control )

2) Can i still use my mic or after hooking up the amp for calculations?

3) Will i notice a big difference in sound after i hook up the PVA 7 ?

4) What do i have to look forward to ?
