It's a very low key, low budget Irish movie, so I doubt there will be a HD DVD release anytime soon.
By the time it comes around to a hi-def release Universal will be releasing on Blu-ray.

Is it getting much of a release over there?
I don't think it's out here for a couple of months, I haven't seen any advertising/promotion for it.

I've seen the trailer at theatres literally playing before 98% of the movies I've seen since December. I don't watch live TV much so I have no idea what TV ads would be like

it seems like the promotion is kicking up a little bit bc i've seen the tv spot a couple of times over the last 2 days mostly recorded shows from earlier in the week but the interest also seems to be growing on the web from what i've seen and its actually coming out this upcoming friday

Default In Bruges is a 5 star movie

In Bruges was terrific. Great cast, great script, beautiful scenery, great direction, excellent movie!!! I highly recommend this movie. I would say that if you liked No Country for old Men and Pulp Fiction, especially if you can imagine combining the two, then you will like In Bruges. This is a dialog driven dark comedy that is sometimes very violent.

Colin Farrell gave an Oscar performance. I have never seen Colin in this type of role. He was brilliant. Brendan Gleeson (from Harry Potter), Ralph Fiennes, and Clémence Poésy were perfectly cast in this movie and gave great performances as well. Ralph Fiennes in particular is great in every role he plays.

I hope In Bruges makes it to Blu-ray. It will be a definite addition to my library.

Bummer, it looks like In Bruges will be HD DVD because the studio is Focus Features. They also put out Atonement and Eastern Promises. Damn it.

I think you may be going a little overboard on this movie. I mean come on? Colin Farrell gives an Oscar worthy performance???!!!! Umm, yeah, I dunno about that. I will admit that Gleeson was quite good though.

It is a shame that you would let some asinine format war crap cause you to not support film makers and actors who have nothing to do with it.
Kind of pathetic actually...

In Bruges is an absolute fantastic film! Had to watch it on an upscaled DVD, but I loved it. It's dark, sensitive and hilarious. Colin Farrell and Brendon Gleeson are a hoot. Can't wait for a BD release....

Might be better than the Dark Knight, IMHO.

Any news of a Blu-ray release for this one???
I really want to see this film.

It looks like there are French and Australian releases coming in January, but still no US release date.

Universal should release In Bruges in a "Sampler Pack" along with Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels and Smokin' Aces.
