Default Question about PS3 controllers

Hi all!

I just wanted to know: Does the dualshock controller for the PS3 also have the sixaxis motion function? If not, do I need both controllers for my games? (Some of my games need the sixaxis like Folklore). Is it possible for a game to ONLY work with the dualshock controller or should all games work with the sixaxis?

Thanks for the help!

I'm pretty sure on this, but the Dual Shock 3 have the Six Axis Tech.

Okay, but if I still have the sixaxis controller and don't want to buy a new dualshock, will the sixaxis still work with all the new games coming out for dualshock 3? It just won't rumble right?

Both controllers will work with all PS3 games, one will rumble, one won't. That's the only difference. I have a DS and 2 sixaxis controllers and all work fine (obviously the sixaxis are a bit lighter but their battery should last a bit longer as it doesn't also have to power the rumbling).

Yes. The DS3 controller is equipped with the SIXXAXIS feature. All PS3 games will work with either controller. However, only a selected few games actually use the SIXXAXIS feature while a majority of the newer releases support the rumble feature. Hopefully, this helps. Good luck!
