Default Oscar De La Hoya Vs. Manny Pacquiao Discussion

Manny Pacquiao defeated Oscar De La Hoya by TKO

The fight ended during the break between Round 8 and 9. De La Hoya's camp felt that since he wasn't defending himself, they were stopping the fight. Throughout the whole match, Pacquiao was extremely dominate. This was definitely not a great fight for De La Hoya. Pacquiao was faster and landed more than have of his thrown power punches, while De La Hoya stayed in the low 20's.

Let's hope De La Hoya doesn't fight again.

I was surprised De La Hoya was even fighting again. I know it hasnt been that long since his last fight but he was old then, for a boxer. Not counting tonight he had lost 3 of his last 5. Now at 4 losses of his last 6 fights he should just quit while hes not totally humiliated.

I can't say I wouldn't have made the same bet. A lot of people put on against him in the Mayweather Jr. fight. He lost by decision, not by knock-out so that fight still could have gone either way. But this one was really an incredibly weak attempt.

De La Hoya promised someone would get knocked out. What a sissy. It looked like he was going to go down a few times but then he wimped out.

Sounds good but I think Mayweather would be smart to dodge this fight, a strategy he's so good at doing anyways.

I actually have a little respect for De La Hoya. Yeah he's hasn't been impressive over the past 5 years but his list of career opponents is very impressive regardless if they were handpicked or not. He's a smart businessman whether people like him or not.

I would love to see Mayweather fight Pacman, but I honestly think Mayweather would be cautious about this fight. I think both fighters have the skills to beat each other but it wouldn't be a pretty fight for Mayweather. De La Hoya wanted to brawl when they fought and Mayweather had the skills to pick a slower De La Hoya apart, against a faster Pacman, I think Mayweather would have no choice but to trade punches something he is probably uncomfortable doing. I'd pay to watch this fight.
