Starting to sound like a broken record, but I recommend the 805

I would go with an 06 model Onkyo if you can. The newer version is well worth it.

The 706 is $488 on Amazon right now with the 806 being $599.

Can't go wrong either way dude.

Check out the Denon 789, it retails at $599.99. I have had it for about a month and couldn't be happier with it. I wanted to get new speakers in the beginning of 2009, but I may hold off another year because the receiver has greatly improved the sound of my entire system. It has 3 HDMI inputs that passthrough both video and sound. It is a little of a pain to set up; just make sure you don't have faulty HDMI cables.

I have included a great review and overview below; after reading this I was sold on it.
