Question PS3 Question

i was wanting to know if the PS3's HD output at 720p/1080i and 1080p via HDMI was at 60hz on the European PS3's or 50hz as whenever i put my PS3 into 720p or 1080i via the HDMI which are both supported by my TV the KDF-E50A12U, it says 720p/60 or 1080i/60 in the top left corner and it begins to display pink lines and ghosting in pink to the left of the images.

I wanted to know if it was 60hz because i don't think the TV fully supports it and thats why it displays ghosting and lines in pink on the images and the PS3is only properly viewable at 576p which i think outputs at 50hz.

My TV displays 720p and 1080i signals fine over HDMI and i know this because i've been using an upscaling DVD player at 1080i via HDMI without any ghosting or lines in pink, can anybody please help me out and/or tell me if i should contact SONY directly, if so could you provide me with the UK SONY number as i cannot find it in any of the supplied PS3 manuals

Thanks in advance

Since you're in Europe and you have a European PS3, it should match, ie 50Hz. Try checking your Display settings. See if you can change it from 60Hz to 50Hz. Or try contacting SCE EU.

Our knowledge base here is limited to the NTSC release PS3s.

I thought it should be 50hz here in the UK too but i still don'rt understand why it is doing the image like that, i can play DVDs fine in either upscaled 720p or 1080i via HDMI without any of those problems and i was thinking that my PS3 should display HD fine up to 1080i on my TV.

I think i may need to contact SCEE about this but i couldn't find their customer service number in any of the manuals supplied within the PS3 box.
