how the hell do i update the firmware for a Samsung BD-P1400? i have PS3 so i dont know how. im trying to update my friends for the first time...

There are 2 ways.
1. the first is to hook up your player wiht an ethernet cable and download via the internet.
2. Download the firmware from the website of the manufaturer that you have the player through and burn it onto a disc then insert your disk into the player and instal that way.

we have it hooked up? how do you do it though?

now unless your refering to the process exactly for the 1400, which i used to have but upgraded to the PS3 my self. You have to go to menu>system>update/upgrade. Something to that point or darn near similar

ok. i have it working now, but how long should this take? we are over 15 mins now...

LOL when I had my 1400, it took like forever. I beleive it took me wiht mine like over a half hour. So my advice, just be paitent. and good luck.
