Default Bdp-s350

I have the S350, how can i get better sound, i have a 60" sony and i have to put the volume almost all the way up to hear my blu-ray. Is there a setting on the player that i have to adjust? Also i did the firmware update is there a way that i can use my flash drive to stay connected?

I have the same question. My BDP-S350 is connected to my 50" Sony TV via a standard HDMI cable, no receiver or nothing else, just listening to it thru the TV speakers. (which still sounds pretty good) I have to turn the volume on the TV way up when playing a BD compared to where I have it set when I'm watching TV thru my cable box. (also connected by HDMI)

Not sure...

Maybe the Audio (HDMI) setting should be set to 2-Ch PCM instead of Auto.
Maybe the Dolby Digital setting should be set to Downmix instead of Dolby Digital.
Maybe the DTS settings should also be set to Downmix.
Not sure about that "Downmix" setting. Maybe that should be set to Normal.

I'd play with those settings.

Lossless audio tends to be recorded at lower volumes. There's really no solution for this. You have to turn up the volume on the TV.

2 ch is correct for a TV connection.

Not relevant. This only affects the optical output.

It should be set to normal since the TV doesn't have a ProLogic processor. But, that setting also shouldn't affect the volume.

I had the same situation and this is how I fixed it.....

Go to the audio setting on your S350 and do the following:

BD Audio Setting---- Select Direct.

Audio (HDMI) should be---- 2ch PCM

Audio DRC--- Select Auto

And finally.....For those of you who has a Sony LCD, go to the TV audio settings and turn on Steady Sound........That should give you a more stable sound and the dialog will be very high and clear......

This should give you an awesome sound if you are connecting the Player directly to your TV via HDMI......

Sorry, but I haven't connected mine yet so I have no idea how to do it wireless. Browse the S350 thread, If I'm not mistaken that was discussed there.

I'm glad you like the audio settings I gave you. Enjoy!

Fairly certain you can't use that. The USB port on the S350 is only for attaching a flash drive for BD-live access. You can't (for example) put pictures on a flash drive and access them through that port as far as I know, so I don't think you can use it for a USB wireless connection either.
