I am in a similar position, I would rather hold off for an iTouch, the price is too close to justify an eventual switch.

Yeah i'm either getting the nano or itouch for my gf for christmas.

I'm leaning towards the itouch...i got her a ipod last year but it doesnt have the newer functions and has a little screen.

The itouch costs more...But is it better?

What is everyone else getting.

I have the iPod Touch and I believe it's worth the extra money. It's the coolest device I've ever purchased. Also the best looking. I recommend getting an iPhone instead only because you'll have more functions, like a mic, a camera, and built in GPS, even if you can't activate the phone service. Not only that, it costs the same as the Touch and does everything the Touch can do. Of course, if you just want a music player, the Touch is overkill.

As an example, I have 6 different photo editing applications on my Touch that I can edit photos with while waiting in line at a store. Another example: I have something like 100 games on it too, all of them highly addictive.

Just do a bit of research. Some of those things I've mentioned don't really matter to women. I bought another Touch for my wife for her birthday and she loves it, but rarely uses the many applications it has.

There are games on the new Nanos that have video playback capabilities, but their games compared to Touch games are like comparing the Gameboy Color to the PSP. Reason being the Touch has a touch screen, a more powerful processor, a huge screen, and the accelerometer which makes the Touch respond to every little tilt.

Be that as it may, the Nano is still a nice little machine, and furthermore, looks great. Also, it's the perfect mp3 player for females who don't care about all the fancy Touch stuff!

If you want your music in the same quality as your CDs, go for the iPod Classic, and rip your CDs in AIFF or Apple Lossless - depending on how many CDs you have. Should be a 240GB version coming out.

I loved my 1st gen iPod touch when I had it, but I HATED trying to navigate songs and different playlists with that damn touch screen while driving... that was a pain in the ass. It is so much easier with my new nano and the click wheel.

Default totally random question

Hey guys, this is a random question for you multi-ipod owners. I'm looking at getting either a new Ipod Touch 16 GB, or the Ipod Classic. I'd love to know if anybody can tell me if there's a difference in audio quality between the two. I may hook it up to my Marantz, and I don't want a krappy sounding iPod, so does anybody know if there is a better audio quality/processor in either of the two, or are they pretty equivalent? thanks guys!
