Yahoo has posted a great feature about the most ridiculous movie moments of 2008, including examples such as Indiana Jones surviving a nuclear blast by hiding in a fridge, the
[Show spoiler] fight in Hancock, and listing the entire "Happening" movie as one moment all in itself.Check it out: http://movies.yahoo.com/photos/colle...idge/fp#photo0 Any more you can think of? Shout em out. Last edited by Sussudio; 12-30-2008 at 05:11 AM. |

i was able to forgive the Indy 4 fridge scene b/c of the unrealistic scenes that appeared in the 1st 3 movies.
i do have to agree w/the Mummy Yetti field goal scene. that make my stomach turn. i wonder what goes through an actor's/directors/writers mind when a scene like that is shot. do they think it'll be funny or are they secretly keeping quite on the stupidity??? |

I don't understand. Spielberg is a smart man, how could he think for a second that putting Indy in a fridge in the middle of a nuclear blast would be enough to let him come out unscathed ? Or did this stroke of stupidity come from George Lucas ?

Depends what kind of Fridge it is? Think of the time period they were shooting in. The 1950's. They had big iron fridges not the plastic ones today.

You're joking right ? FYI, A thermonuclear blast would have melted your iron fridge like a cube of ice in the desert heat. A plastic fridge would have been disintegrated. With a nuclear blast it would not matter that the fridge be made of magic pixie powder or cotton candy. We are talking about a nuclear blast here.

I've heard about this "duck and cover" instruction in case of a nuclear blast. But that thing is totally incomplete, the complete instruction should be "duck, cover and die". Now who said that governments don't have a sick sense of humor.
