Default Boxing Day Speakers

Hi Folks,

Just wanted everyone's opinions on the following boxing day "deals" i've found at my local futureshop..

Energy Take Classic 5.1 S/B marked down to $399.99CAD

Polk Audio RTi6 S/B marked to $199.99CAD

I'm looking to match these to a Yamaha HTR6160/PS3, and I DON'T have the budget, or room, for a tower setup. Would anybody recomend jumping on either of these deals? Maybe 4xRTi6 - and hopefully find a deal on another center/sub?

Thanks
Brendon

I have the Energy Take Classic system, paired with a DENON AVR-788 receiver and the PS3. I'm very satisfied with them. I have a smallish TV room and they do a fine job in that context.

$399 is a pretty good price for these.

I went out yesterday for boxing day shopping too.

Ended up with Klipcsh F1 Tower speakers from BestBuy - $299 for the pair

Got the Rti6 from futureshop but then I found Polk M10's for $68 at Visions so Ill return the Rti6's

And Klipcsh RC10 center channel speaker from Futureshop for $199

Some of those deals may still be up you might want to look into them. The Klipcsh speakers were a great deal I thought.

I ended up out on Boxing Day looking for speakers... finally decide on a set of Wharfedale Crystal2 40s and the matching center. Much better than what I had and the more I listen to them, the better they seem to sound.

From all the research I did online they Crystal series is a few years old, and the entry level speaker from Wharfedale. I got a great deal, so I went for it.

Iam assumming you live in Canada,I would go look at some Paradigm speakers.
You get what you pay for most of the time.
Paradigm speakers are for people on a Budget and they don't fall short of Quality.

You could use these for Fronts

http://www.gibbysaudiovideo.com/para...rs-p-2087.html

You could get These for fronts or backs or both

http://www.gibbysaudiovideo.com/para...ker-p-956.html

Of coarse the Center Channel

http://www.gibbysaudiovideo.com/para...ers-p-552.html

This is the cheapest sub that Paradigm puts out, if you ever choose to get a sub.
Remember you can use any sub from any company It will not effect the sound being produces out of the speakers(but a sub is recommended when and if you can afford one down the line )

http://www.gibbysaudiovideo.com/para...er-p-2579.html

These are only Suggestion but I've never heard anyone feeling Ripped off By Paradigm With Price and Quality like i Said.

If you were choose Between Polk and Energy I would Say Energy,But iam not really Impressed with The Center Channel That is Shown (Just my opinion )

Good luck Too You

The polk RTi series are very good. I just bought that same pair of rti6's today from that futureshop sale. Using them as mains with rti4's as surrounds. These speakers rock.

well i suppose i should update with my purchases and planned setup:

Front L/R & Surrounds:

Polk RTi6

Center:

Polk CSiA 4

Sub:

Polk PSW505

Now I just have to wait for them to ship from futurshop.

I'll be mating them with the Yamaha HTR6160 I got for christmas from the Fiance ... and the new Toshiba 46XV545U I picked up on boxing day (damn friend had to drag me out on boxing day door crasher sales!)

Thanks very much for the input folks!
